On
1 October 2000 GAWB commenced operations as a Category 1
commercialised Water Authority under the Water Act 2000 and
is responsible to the Minister for Natural Resources and
Water. GAWB supplies water directly to large industrial customers, including the Gladstone Regional Council which then distributes water directly to ratepayers.
GAWB’s primary focus is to supply its customers
through commercially responsive and environmentally sustainable
business practices. This is achieved through planning, operating
and maintaining the infrastructure required to supply water
in a sustainable manner, while minimising the impact of its
operations on the environment.
